About Alex

My name is Alexandra Thomas and I’ve been teaching fitness and Pilates classes for over 16 years. I was looking for a change in career to move out of the corporate world. It combined my love of exercise and it was a job that fitted nicely with the needs of my growing family. I was really into teaching cardio fitness classes such as spin and dance fitness. Yes I was a crazy Zumba lady for a time!. Although I taught Pilates alongside my other cardio classes I don’t think at the time I really appreciated how effective it was. However teaching over 15 cardio classes per week, 3 pregnancies and a problem with my left hip causing me ongoing pain, I became increasingly drawn towards Pilates and movement therapy and its amazing benefits. I decided to reduce my cardio classes and focus purely on Pilates. I embarked on more training courses including my level 3 diploma, Trigger Point Pilates and Barre. I am currently training to become a Biomechanics coach too. . I can honestly say Pilates has changed my life, I no longer experience pain, have improved my flexibility massively and my core strength and balance is better than it was in my 20s! My vocation in life is to help you improve your body and feel better. I am here to help and guide you. I can do this though a number of ways, through my on demand membership, which includes a variety of Pilates, Movement, Wellbeing and fitness classes for you to choose from, specialist online programmes, and when I’m able to open again at my studio. . I have a thirst for knowledge so attend regular training and keep up with all the latest research so I can pass this onto you!. When I’m not teaching, I like to spend time with my husband, 3 children and my crazy hound. I love mountain biking, hiking, skiing, listening to music, going to gigs and the theatre and I sing in a choir.

Trigger class, with, foam rollers, prickle balls & pulse roller, my favourite, can’t believe how relaxed I feel after this amazing class, not to mention a good 5cm taller.
